Michael Sobell Sinai School - Kenton

Welcome to The Michael Sobell Sinai School in our 20th year. Now the largest orthodox Jewish primary school in Europe, situated in Kenton, we are next to the new JFS site, which opens in 2002.

We are a non-selective, co-educational, voluntary aided school within the London Borough of Brent for 3-11 year olds. We have a wonderful two-form nursery and currently take three forms at reception. We opened in 1981.

Michael Sobell Sinai School

We are proud of our challenging and well-established secular and Jewish education curriculum that raises the expectations and maximises the potential of every child that we care for.

Highly Praised
This year's mini OFSTED inspection, carried out by the Government's school inspectors, gave the school the highest possible praise describing us as a "Very Good School" the first time a Jewish Primary school has achieved such recognition. Our Limmudei Kodesh education was also highly praised in the recent Pikuach report following an inspection by the United Synagogue's Agency for Jewish Education. In this year's SAT's results, Michael Sobell Sinai School again achieved significantly higher than average results. In Year 6 (Key Stage 2) nearly half the pupils achieved level 5 or above and almost 90% achieved level 4 or above - outstanding for a truly non-selective school. We have unrivalled facilities including a fully equipped IT facility, a dedicated Support Teaching block, music room, library and full size gym. There are extra-curricular activities in many areas: sport, drama and languages to Ohel Torah and Layning. Music tuition is available for most instruments. Our Year 6 annual 'Israel Experience' has received special acknowledgement.

Confidence
In addition to gaining National Curriculum skills, our experience is that your child will build confidence, develop self-reliance, learn to make decisions and develop the essential skills to communicate effectively.

Our aim is to work with you in the upbringing of your child. We set an example of excellence and equality in education within an environment that reflects orthodox Jewish practice and beliefs. Childhood is a special time. We believe we offer the best possible education for children in our care in a secure, happy and rewarding environment during this, the most important stage of their development.

We welcome application at all levels within the school - nursery to Year 6.

Contact the school for an informal discussion or application pack, telephone on 020 8204 1550 - we look forward to speaking to you!
