Training
The AJE, together with the Jewish Teacher Training Partnership, provides the only
government and nationally accredited initial teacher training programmes for the
Jewish community through:
- SCITT - a one year School Centred Initial Teacher Training Course, leading to a PGCE (Post-Graduate Certificate in Education) and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- GTP - an employment based one year Graduate Teacher Programme which prepares individual training plans for teachers aged 24+ to achieve QTS
- RTP - an employment based two year Registered Teacher Programme for non-graduates aged 24+ combined with part-time study leading to a BEd degree and QTS
- OTT - the Overseas Trained Teachers Programme which enables teachers who have qualified outside the European Union to gain QTS
