Bible Lands Museum

This is the home of one of the most important collections of antiquities illustrating the civilisations of the ancient lands mentioned in the Bible.

The lands extend from Afghanistan in the east to the Mediterranean Sea in the west, from the Caucasian Mountains in the north to Nubia in the south.

The items exhibited are physical evidence of the civilisations and events described in the Bible. Traditions, rituals, religions and cultures are brought to life through seals, ivories, mosaics, jewellery, maps and objects of the Ancient Near East.

Each gallery presents artefacts from diverse regions at specific periods, so that the interactions between the lands of the Near East and their effects can be immediately visualised.

The Bible Lands Museum is located on Museum Row across from the Israel Museum between the Knesset and the Shrine of the Book.
