Jerusalem 3000 Book of Idea =========================== Magazine -------- OVERALL AIM To create an opportunity for pupils/club members to appreciate the importance of the Jerusalem 3000 event by producing a school/club magazine focused entirely on the topic of Jerusalem. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Working together to produce an interesting and stimulating publication to commemorate the 3000th anniversary of Jerusalem as our capital city. THIS ACTIVITY IS SUITABLE FOR * School Class * Cheder * Youth Club WHAT YOU WILL NEED An action plan - Who is doing what, when and how? An enthusiastic working team Teacher/Leader supervision and advice Time Lots of contributors A budget Sponsors A deadline GETTING STARTED Appoint an editorial board and a production team. Identify various responsibilities: * Collecting and collating articles * Design and layout * Graphics and artwork * Typing and proof reading * Advertising * Sponsorship * Greetings * Judging competitions * Printing/photocopying * Marketing/distribution Plan strategies for obtaining articles. Create competitions to encourage contributors. Have a competition for a suitable name and logo for the magazine. THE JERUSALEM 3000 MAGAZINE MOVING FORWARD Produce and distribute flyers for would-be contributors indicating type and size of articles required and deadlines.
