Noach Resource Page 1 - Key Stage 1

The people in the world were very wicked to each other and Hashem decided to destroy them by bringing a great flood which would cover the whole world. Only one man and his family were good people; they would be saved. Hashem told him to build a wooden Tevah, an Ark, which would float on the water. It took him a long time to build, and when other people saw him and his sons making it they asked him what he was doing. He told them about the flood, but they would not repent (change their wicked ways). Hashem told him to take with him into the Tevah animals and birds so that, when they came out after the flood, each kind of animal would still exist in the world instead of being completely destroyed. When the people and animals were in the Tevah and it was shut tight, Hashem sent heavy rain which swept away everything in the world except the Tevah, which floated.
